The World Competition Database is a unique project that has been conceived and developed by the GW Competition Law Center (CLC) over many years. It is a platform that provides useful information about competition agencies and applicable laws worldwide, including agencies’ structure, institutional design, legal powers, management, decision-making process, and other key characteristics that shape the implementation of competition policy. The Database is designed to be an accessible, user-friendly tool for both practitioners and the general public.
The Database has developed profiles compiling information about jurisdictions across Africa, Asia, Europe, North, Central and South America, Oceania, the Pacific and the Caribbean. It is a living project that will continuously expand towards gathering information from an increasing number of jurisdictions, including both members of the International Competition Network (ICN) and non-ICN members.
The Database is the result of the CLC’s independent research only. Through a collaborative approach, we invite competition agencies and practitioners around the globe to provide their feedback and comments on the Database profiles the CLC has prepared for their respective jurisdictions. The Database form is available on our website and can be reviewed, commented on, and adjusted accordingly by contributors, including to reflect any recent changes in competition policy. Such contributions would be greatly appreciated and would help the GW Competition Law Center to keep providing comprehensive data for practitioners worldwide. We encourage competition agencies to contact the CLC to contribute to this insightful project.
