Austria's competition regime is primarily founded on the Austrian Competition Act of 2002, the Federal Cartel Act of 2005 and the Federal Act Against Unfair Competition of 1984. The Austrian Federal Competition Authority (AFCA; Bundeswettbewerbsbehörde - BWB) was created by the Austrian Competition Act of 2002. It conducts investigations against potential violations of Austrian national competition laws and European competition laws. The AFCA is managed by its Director General.
