Albania

Law No. 9121, dated July 28, 2003, is Albania's main competition law statute. The law established the Albanian Competition Authority (Autoriteti i Konkurrencës) as the country's independent competition agency. The authority started its activities on March 1, 2004. The authority encompasses a Commission and a Secretariat. The Commission is the agency's decision-making body and is composed of five members elected by the Parliament of Albania. The Secretariat is the authority's executive body and is led by the Secretary General.
