On April 1, 2025, the GW Competition Law Center (CLC) hosted a timely and thought-provoking event at GW Law titled “Antitrust Enforcement Trends – An International Perspective.”
The panel featured distinguished speakers, including Professor William Kovacic of GW Law, Eduardo Barros, Member of the Board at Paraguay’s Competition Authority (CONACOM), and Daniela Huertas Vergara, Advisor to the Superintendent of the Superintendency of Industry and Commerce (SIC) in Colombia.
The discussion focused on the evolving landscape of antitrust enforcement in Latin America, offering comparative insights based on real-world investigations and landmark cases. Panelists examined enforcement challenges, institutional practices, and the growing importance of international cooperation in advancing effective competition policy.
A key highlight of the event was the signing of a technical cooperation agreement between the GW Competition Law Center and CONACOM. This agreement establishes a framework for future collaboration and knowledge exchange aimed at strengthening competition enforcement in Paraguay and beyond.
The GW Competition Law Center extends its sincere thanks to all participants and contributors who helped make this event a success. The Center looks forward to continuing its efforts to foster meaningful dialogue on global antitrust policy and enforcement.
