Belgium's competition legal framework is mainly governed by the Code of Economic Law, enacted on January 28, 2013. The Belgium Competition Authority (BCA) began its operations as an independent administrative authority on September 6, 2013, in connection with Article IV.16 of the Code of Economic Law. The BCA is directed by a Managing Board, composed of the President, the Competition Prosecutor General, the General Counsel, and the Chief Economist. The BCA comprises the Investigation and Prosecution Service, and the Competition College - the agency's decision-making body.
