Latin American and Caribbean Competition Forum 2024 (LACCF)

The annual conference was held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic on October 8-10, 2024.

  • The Forum, organized by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and Inter-American Development Bank (IDB),  brings together high-level competition officials each year to promote dialogue, consensus building and networking among policy makers and enforcers in the region.
  • The 2024 Forum was hosted by Dominican Republic's Procompetencia on October 9-10, 2024 and explored fintechs and open banking as well as ex officio investigations.
  • Professor Kovacic and Alejandro Ibarra participated in the forum.

Latin American and Caribbean Competition Forum 2024

LACCF was a part of the 2024 Competition Week, a series of events held in the Dominican Republic to promote competition policy, including:

  • Workshop training on fair and just competition for judges of the Dominican Republic's Constitutional Court, Supreme Court of Justice, Superior Administrative Court and investigating judges of the National District.
  • Celebration of the National Competition Day
  • LACCF
  • Training on free competition for journalists and communicators in order to strengthen their knowledge on free competition issues. Alejandro Ibarra, Fellow of the Competition Law Center, was one of lecturers of the training
