Kuwait’s competition framework is governed by Law No. 72 of 2020 on the Protection of Competition and its 2021 implementing regulations. The Competition Protection Agency (CPA) is the main authority responsible for enforcing the law, reviewing mergers, and promoting competition. It operates independently under the supervision of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and can impose administrative sanctions, prohibit restrictive agreements, and issue advisory opinions.
