On April 1, 2025, the GW Competition Law Center proudly collaborated with Concurrences for the Antitrust Writing Awards 2025, an event dedicated to recognizing outstanding contributions to global antitrust and competition law scholarship. The ceremony was held in Washington, D.C., and brought together leading academics, practitioners, and policy experts from around the world.
Professor William Kovacic, Director of the GW Competition Law Center and former Chair of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, served as both a featured speaker and committee member. In his remarks, Professor Kovacic emphasized the value of international dialogue and rigorous academic writing in shaping effective competition policy and enforcement strategies.
In addition to Professor Kovacic’s leadership role, the GW Competition Law Center was represented by several of its Fellows, who contributed as committee members in the Student Articles section, supporting the evaluation and recognition of emerging scholarship by students from around the world.
The event also welcomed a strong student delegation from GW Law, attending on behalf of the Competition Law Center. Their presence underscored the Center’s commitment to fostering student engagement and academic excellence in antitrust law.
The 2025 Antitrust Writing Awards honored leading publications across multiple categories, including Academic Articles, Business Articles, Soft Law & Studies, and Student Papers. The awards aim to promote competition advocacy and highlight the most impactful written work in the field.
The GW Competition Law Center extends its congratulations to all winners and finalists and is proud to support initiatives that encourage global collaboration, research, and policy advancement in antitrust law.
