Guernsey's competition law regime is founded on the Competition (Enabling Provisions) Law of 2009, the Competition Ordinance of 2012, and the Guernsey Competition and Regulatory Authority Ordinance of 2012, which created the Guernsey Competition & Regulatory Authority (GCRA). The GCRA has the mandate to investigate mergers, abuse of dominant positions and other anticompetitive practices, in addition to regulatory powers over utilities, postal services, and telecommunications sectors. The GCRA is governed by a Board of at least three people, including a chairperson.
