Dominican Competition Regime is contained primarily in the General Act for the Defense of Competition that was enacted on January 16, 2008. The country has a collegiate competition authority with an exclusive mandate on competition composed of 5 directors; this agency is called La Comisión Nacional de Defensa de la Competencia (“Pro-Competencia”), which started to enforce the Competition Act after January 2017 when its first Executive Director was appointed.
