The Anti-Monopoly Law (AML) of China was enacted in 2007 and came into effect on August 1, 2008. The State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) was established in 2018. The Anti-Monopoly Bureau of SAMR oversees competition enforcement in China. The Central Anti-Monopoly Commission, led by the State Council, provides strategic guidance and coordinates competition policy at a national level.
