Anwar Mojumder, is a fellow associate at the Competition Law Center. Through his work at the Center, he demonstrates a profound interest in merger regulations, engaging deeply with the merger control regimes of the United States and Bangladesh. His research further encompasses a range of antitrust topics, including cartel behavior, monopolization, exclusive dealing, and tying agreements in both jurisdictions. His work also sheds light on the potential for robust antitrust regimes to foster sustainable socio-economic development in developing nations, with a special focus on improving the Bangladeshi antitrust regime. Additionally, his multifaceted research aims to contribute significantly to the understanding and implementation of antitrust laws in a global context.
He first earned his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and then a Master of Laws (LLM) in Bangladesh from Northern University Bangladesh. Later, he became a licensed attorney in Bangladesh and practiced law with several law firms in the country. Seeking further specialization, he pursued a second LLM in Business and Finance Law at the George Washington University Law School. At GW Law, he collaborated with distinguished professors, including Professor William E. Kovacic, focusing on judicial interpretations of U.S. antitrust laws and merger regulations.
